The results of the research of scientists from University College London showed that the cause of depression can be a passion for junk food, particularly junk food.

The study was published in the journal Molecular Psychiatry.

According to experts, people with the more common Mediterranean diet the risk of depression by 33 percent lower than in people whose diet is least similar to the Mediterranean diet.

A Mediterranean diet involves eating lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, fruits, potatoes, beans, nuts and seeds. In addition, scientists recommend to include in your diet dairy products, fish, meat and red wine.

As explained by the study’s lead author Dr. Camille Lassalle, the relationship between the brain and the gut plays a special role in mental health and is regulated by the gastrointestinal bacteria, which can change with diet.

It is worth noting that from depression today affects more than 300 million people, and, despite advances in medicine, cure is obtained in only one case out of three.
